Amerykański zespół Starship powstał w roku 1984, po rozwiązaniu Jefferson Starship. Członkami grupy byli: Donny Baldwin, Brett Bloomfield, Craig Chaquico, Mark Morgan, Pete Sears, Grace Slick, Mickey Thomas, jednak Starship często zmieniał swój skład.Grupa prezentowała muzykę z pogranicza popu i rocka. Utwory, które przyniosły im popularność to między innymi: "We Built This City", "Sara", ""Tomorrow Doesn't Matter Tonight" , "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now".
